Programs to Develop Employability
Skills |
Employability skills are developed
in a number of ways. For example through one on one work with Employment
Counselors. The Discover Your Personal Power (DYPP) is a 5 day workshop
with focus on changing perception and beliefs and the development
of postive attittude and behaviours.Emphasis on the development
assessing personal strength, goals setting, working in a group and
using creative methods of problem solving. Employment Pah! is a15
workshop for Deaf clients and incorporates components of the DYPP,
in addition to exploring Deaf/Hearing cultural norms, job searching,
interview preparation and more |

Criteria for Participation
|
Must have a disability, can
be self identified. We serve people with any disability type seeking
competetive employment. Must be unemployed or underemployed less
than 20 hours a month. |
Monitoring Success |
Employment counsellors provide
ongoing assessments. If hired by an employers we provide Post Hiring
support for a persiod of one year. |

Clients offer feedback through
client satisfaction surveys at the end of interventions. Feedback
forms after each workshop |
