Programs to Develop Employability Skills

Employability skills are developed in a number of ways. For example through one on one work with Employment Counselors. The Discover Your Personal Power (DYPP) is a 5 day workshop with focus on changing perception and beliefs and the development of postive attittude and behaviours.Emphasis on the development assessing personal strength, goals setting, working in a group and using creative methods of problem solving. Employment Pah! is a15 workshop for Deaf clients and incorporates components of the DYPP, in addition to exploring Deaf/Hearing cultural norms, job searching, interview preparation and more

Criteria for Participation

Must have a disability, can be self identified. We serve people with any disability type seeking competetive employment. Must be unemployed or underemployed less than 20 hours a month.

Monitoring Success

Employment counsellors provide ongoing assessments. If hired by an employers we provide Post Hiring support for a persiod of one year.

Participant Feedback

Clients offer feedback through client satisfaction surveys at the end of interventions. Feedback forms after each workshop

Follow up Program

Post hiring support provided for a period of one year.
