Oakville Employment Resource
Centre- Free access to computers, printer, fax, phone, copier, scanner
for job search. Business directories, tip sheets, books, videos,
newspapers and more; staff assistance to critique your resume, cover
letter or assist you with job search. Assessments for Career Planning
and Employment Counselling- assessments which can help clients determine
a skills match or a career direction or assist them to understand
what skills they lack. Includes: Aptitude and Interest assessments
(Abilities and Possibilities and Strong Interest Inventory; Self
Employment Profile; Pre GED Assessment; SkillScan (transferable
skills) Job Opportunities for Youth offers one on one employment
counselling and job development. Job Shop is an intensive, results
focused, 2-week program in which participants learn to successfully
access the hidden job market. DoorWays – offers Essential
Skills Training –i.e. communication skills, thinking skills,
problem-solving, teamwork skills, numeracy, reading and document
use.Enhanced Language Training (ELT) targets new Canadians who are
at more advanced levels than the LINC/ESL classes, and are job ready
but trying to overcome the řlack of Canadian experienceÓ barrier. |

Reachback clients, however, any unemployed individual is given consideration
as space in programs is available; no eligibility for clients to
use the Georgetown Employment Resource Centre, other than must be
